Boundless launches ZKC tokenized AI inference program, staking tokens allows periodic access to AI model usage quotas.
November 4 - According to official sources, Boundless Foundation has announced that it will launch a Tokenized AI Inference program on January 2, 2027, positioning ZKC as an AI Access Coin.
After the program goes live, users who stake ZKC will periodically receive model usage Credits on the Boundless AI platform on a pro-rata basis, which can be used to access frontier open-weight models.
According to the plan, the initial AI credit pool will be approximately $1,000, distributed every two days, with the credits users receive depending on the proportion of their staked amount to the total network staking volume. Staked ZKC will not be consumed, and users will not need to perform token migration or re-staking.
At the same time, ZKC will gradually transition to a fixed supply, halting new token issuance, with AI usage credits replacing the original staking and proof rewards. Boundless's ZK proof business will be suspended indefinitely starting November 5, 2026.
Key timeline:
November 5, 2026: Stop accepting new ZK proof requests and close the proof reward claim channel
November 30, 2026: Explorer user interface goes offline, staking functionality continues to be available through a standalone interface
January 1, 2027: The last staking reward cycle ends, and ZKC stops minting after rewards are settled
January 2, 2027: The Tokenized AI Inference program officially launches, allowing users to stake ZKC to obtain AI model usage credits
