OpenAI Lets Users Assign Tasks to Personal Agent Dot via Text Message

October 29: ChatGPT posted on X that users can now interact with their personal agent Dot via iMessage or RCS text messages, assigning tasks with text, images, or voice memos, and Dot will also proactively send texts to update them on task progress. The feature is limited to messages exchanged between users and their own Dot, and will not let Dot or OpenAI access users' other text message conversations. It is currently rolling out in preview to Pro users in the U.S. OpenAI launched the Dot personal agent in late September.
