CZ: Binance Appears to Have Been Hacked, About $1.794 Billion in Stablecoins Frozen

October 30: Binance founder CZ posted on X that user funds are safe and that this does indeed look like a hack targeting Binance, thanking Tether (about $971 million) and Circle (about $823 million) for quickly freezing the relevant funds. CZ said he no longer manages Binance.com, but as a shareholder he expects all user funds to be fully covered. Previously, Binance officially said it was investigating potential security issues and has not yet confirmed that user funds were affected.
