Mercado Bitcoin: $12.9M in assets frozen after security incident, platform still suspended

November 3: Brazilian crypto exchange Mercado Bitcoin released the latest update on its security incident, saying the affected assets are currently worth about $36.3 million, of which $12.9 million has been frozen, and the work is ongoing. The platform and app remain suspended until a safe restoration is confirmed; the company said customer assets are safeguarded and balances are still recorded in their respective accounts. The exchange previously said it had frozen $11 million in related assets.
