Nov. 7: MEXC said in a statement that it has learned of the directive issued by the U.S. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and is conducting an in-depth assessment of it. MEXC's operations are entirely normal and user assets are safe. MEXC said it plans to engage in constructive communication with FinCEN and other relevant regulators and competent authorities worldwide. In addition, MEXC has launched an independent review of its own anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions controls.
Previously reported, the U.S. Treasury's FinCEN ordered that MEXC Global be cut off from the U.S. financial system, alleging its involvement in transactions including at least $16 billion in sanctions evasion.
