Tether Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Central Bank of Kazakhstan to Explore Stablecoins and Asset Tokenization
On October 7, Tether announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) and the Almaty City Administration (ACA), under which the three parties will explore cooperation opportunities in areas such as stablecoin applications, asset tokenization, and decentralized finance.
Under the agreement, the three parties will examine international models for stablecoin issuance, formulate concepts and pilot programs for stablecoins pegged to Kazakhstan's national currency, the Tenge, and explore establishing an asset tokenization framework. They will also research priority asset categories for tokenization and consider utilizing Tether's asset tokenization platform, Hadron, to launch pilot projects.
