US eases diesel sanctions on Russia until April next year, Putin says resuming peace talks remains unlikely in the near term.

On October 10 that, according to Jinshi Data, the U.S. Treasury Department recently eased restrictions on Russian diesel imports, allowing related trade to continue until April next year. The Russian Deputy Prime Minister subsequently stated willingness to increase diesel supplies to the United States and all partners, with planned deliveries of 300,000 tons in October, 500,000 tons in November, and 1 million tons in December.

Diplomatically, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Donald Trump, focusing their discussion on the prospects of resolving the Ukraine crisis. Putin explicitly stated that it is currently impossible for Russia to resume peace negotiations with Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the deal, stating it will not bring peace, while the UK government warned it will continue applying pressure through the strictest sanctions in history.
