Visa Predicts Asia-Pacific Could See 1.2 Billion Stablecoin Users by 2031

Oct 10, 11:07

On October 10, according to CoinDesk, Visa's latest Global Payments Trends report indicates that, driven by the pursuit of convenience and efficiency, an estimated 1.2 billion consumers in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) will adopt stablecoins by 2031. Data shows that, compared to other markets, APAC is poised to see significant double-digit growth in transaction volumes for stablecoins and cryptocurrencies, primarily attributed to the region's active cross-border trade activities.

To meet growing demand, Visa is expanding its partnerships in the blockchain space, including collaborations with Stripe and utilizing Ripple's XRP Ledger for settlement services. Visa President Dan Schulman stated that as infrastructure matures, stablecoins are becoming a preferred payment method for users due to their fiat-like value storage characteristics.
