Sequoia Capital-backed chip startup Nuvacore plans to seek a new round of funding at a $2.5 billion valuation.
On October 10, according to Reuters, insiders revealed that chip startup Nuvacore, backed by Sequoia Capital, is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in funding, with a valuation of approximately $2.5 billion. Founded just six months ago, Nuvacore has already completed a seed round led by Sequoia Capital and has not yet launched any products. It plans to develop a new central processing unit (CPU) for data centers. As demand for computing power from AI applications continues to grow, the data center CPU market has attracted investor attention. CPUs are used to coordinate tasks across AI chips and run autonomous AI software agents, optimizing them for common computing workloads in data centers and AI infrastructure.
