SK Hynix Predicts AI Infrastructure Performance Scale to Grow Approximately 20-Fold by 2030

On October 14, Ahn Hyun, Head of Development at SK Hynix, predicted at SEDEX 2026 that AI infrastructure performance scale will grow approximately 20 times by 2030. He stated that the AI inference market is expanding along three dimensions: task complexity, context length, and request volume. Consequently, KV cache capacity has expanded, necessitating data to be distributed across HBM, DRAM, and SSD, making data migration a new bottleneck for both performance and energy consumption.
