Goldman Sachs: AI Investment Boom Continues, with North Asia Particularly Benefiting
On October 14, Kevin Sneader, President of Goldman Sachs Group's Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan), stated that driven by factors such as investments in AI infrastructure, Goldman Sachs' operations in Japan, India, and China are all demonstrating strong growth momentum. Sneader noted that the North Asian region particularly benefits from AI-related capital expenditures. He mentioned that Goldman Sachs found the overall market performance of 42 AI-empowered companies listed on Indian stock exchanges increased by approximately 60%, which contrasts with the view that India is at a disadvantage due to a lack of proprietary large language models. Sneader stated, "India has what we call AI-empowered companies." He added that 42 percent of India's agricultural sector holds potential for AI application, indicating substantial long-term development opportunities. Goldman Sachs opened an office in Mumbai last year. (Jin10)
