Analysts: Small and mid-cap crypto assets have recently seen significantly higher market cap growth rates than BTC and large-cap assets.

On October 18, crypto analyst Darkfost stated that since late August, the market cap growth of small and mid-cap crypto assets has been the most pronounced. The gap between their average monthly market cap and annual market cap has continued to widen, with the relevant ratio currently reaching 41%.
In contrast, BTC's ratio is approximately 7%, while large-cap crypto assets stand at just 3.5%. Darkfost pointed out that this structure is relatively uncommon, as the market is typically initiated by BTC first, such as in the wake of the 2023 bear market. However, small and mid-cap assets are more sensitive to market fluctuations, and trends can also reverse rapidly.
