AMC CEO Slams Robinhood Again: Stock Tokens Could Affect Company's Capital Structure
Oct 18, 17:49
October 18 – AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron has once again taken to social media to criticize Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev and Chief Legal Officer Dan Gallagher. He noted that AMC does not agree with Robinhood launching AMC stock tokens in the United States, and that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has also required Robinhood to obtain AMC's consent, or at least allow AMC to halt the related actions.
Aron added that the tokens in question are "fake, synthetic stocks" that could affect AMC's capital structure, and stressed that "AMC should control its own financial destiny, not Robinhood."
