Wash Announces Adjustment to FOMC Meeting Schedule, One Meeting Next Year Without Voting

Oct 29, 02:53

On October 29, according to Jin10 Data, Federal Reserve Chairman Walsh stated that he has decided to adjust the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting schedule starting from autumn next year, and believes that holding eight meetings annually is appropriate.

Walsh noted that the Federal Reserve will still hold eight meetings as planned in 2027, but one of these meetings will not involve voting on monetary policy interest rates, instead being dedicated to policy strategy discussions. In 2028, two of the eight meetings will specifically focus on policy strategy without voting on interest rates; these sessions will not constitute formal policy decision meetings.
