Sei Autobahn consensus upgrade proposal vote reaches quorum
On November 4 that, according to Sei on-chain governance data, voting for the SIP-6 governance proposal aimed at introducing the Autobahn consensus mechanism has reached the quorum threshold. The vote remains ongoing and will conclude at 05:09 Beijing Time on November 6.
As of reporting, approximately 1.906 billion SEI votes support the proposal, with staked tokens participating in the vote accounting for roughly 46.63% of the total supply, exceeding the 33.4% quorum threshold. The proposal aims to allow validators to propose transactions in parallel, reducing reliance on a single block proposer for transaction inclusion.
The passing of the proposal does not mean the upgrade will take effect immediately: Autobahn still requires a public testnet phase and multiple independent security audits, and critical and high-severity issues must be resolved prior to activation.
