The AI startup June has completed a $20 million seed round, with Time Ventures leading the investment.
August 3rd, AI startup June, founded by former Salesforce executive Efrat Rapoport, officially emerged from stealth mode and announced the completion of a $20 million pre-seed financing round. The round was led by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff's Time Ventures, with participation from tech industry figures such as Michael Dell, Aaron Levie, and George Kurtz.
June is dedicated to addressing the system integration challenges faced during the enterprise adoption of AI tools. The company believes that the primary bottleneck for current enterprise AI implementation is not the model's capabilities, but rather how to enable an AI Agent to operate in conjunction with the enterprise's existing software systems, data platforms, and complex workflows.
June's platform can scan a company's existing systems, analyze business processes and data structures, identify bottlenecks, and automatically generate AI Agent deployment plans. These plans include steps such as cleaning up redundant data fields, connecting data sources, and optimizing workflows.
The founding team of June had previously started a voice recognition company called Bonobo AI, which was acquired by Salesforce in 2019. The team then participated in Salesforce's AI-related project development and observed the challenges that enterprise customers faced when integrating AI into existing systems.
Currently, many large enterprises still rely on traditional data management platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Databricks, and Workday. AI Agents need to address issues such as legacy systems, fragmented data, and long-standing technical debt.
