Nvidia Fails to Acquire Anthropic, Anthropic Plans $6 Billion Acquisition of Decart

According to Dynamic Beating monitoring, Anthropic is in talks to acquire AI startup Decart for around $6 billion. The deal is not yet finalized and may still fall through. If completed, this would be Anthropic's largest known acquisition. The Decart team will join Anthropic's Inference and Performance division.

Decart is best known for its real-time video and world modeling. Lucy can dynamically alter video frames, while Oasis can interactively generate a virtual world. It has also developed DOS chip optimization software to increase AI chip utilization, reducing training and inference costs. Decart officially lists DOS alongside Lucy and Oasis as its three core product lines.

This deal has seen a previous turnaround. Decart was initially close to being acquired by NVIDIA, but negotiations collapsed due to a higher counteroffer. A few days ago, SpaceX was briefly speculated as a new buyer, with Amazon and Nebius also mentioned. Unexpectedly, the actual negotiator turned out to be Anthropic.

In May of this year, Decart had just raised $3 billion, with a valuation close to $40 billion. If the final deal goes through at $6 billion, the acquisition price in just three months would be about 50% higher than the previous valuation.
