Sequoia Bets on "Video Version of Cursor": Prezi Raises $12 Million

Aug 13, 14:56

According to Motion Beat, an AI video production platform, Preview has raised a total of $12 million. The General Partnership led a $2 million pre-seed round previously, and six months later, Sequoia Capital led a $10 million seed round.

The core problem that Preview aims to solve is to seamlessly integrate AI into professional video production processes. It functions more like an AI video production command center, combining scriptwriting, storyboarding, shot lists, AI generation, editing, and feedback within the same workspace. The team can simultaneously utilize different models and centrally manage characters, scenes, and props. Each frame also keeps a record of who generated it, which model was used, and the parameters involved.

Sequoia believes that the missing piece in AI video production currently is a "video version of a Cursor." Over 100 studios are already using Preview, including agencies creating ads for Fortune 500 companies and Hollywood film production teams. An additional 3,000 studios are in line to join.
