Doubao 2.1 Pro's first major update in nearly three months: 1,000 real Issues, 83% meeting mergeable standards
Beating AI News Flash: ByteDance has updated Doubao-Seed-2.1-pro. The 0915 version API has been fully launched on Volcano Ark, and Doubao Work and TRAE have also integrated it. Compared with the 2.1 Pro released in June, this update mainly continues to strengthen Agent, Coding, and multimodal capabilities.
Coding is the most concrete upgrade. ByteDance said the new model processed 1,000 real historical Issues on the open-source game Luanti, which has about 387,000 lines of code. Multiple sub-agents ran continuously for nearly 36 hours, and ultimately 83% of tasks met the "mergeable" standard.
The new version also further integrates visual understanding into Coding. The model can directly write code by looking at design drafts, sketches, and screen recordings of operations, and can also handle Web 3D and game development tasks. In an official case, it read 280,000 lines of Java ERP code and developed a runnable mobile page based only on a screen recording and sketches.
On the Agent side, the focus is on strengthening search and verification. In an official demonstration, the model once orchestrated more than 500 sub-agents, retrieved more than 1,000 web pages, and then cross-verified conclusions using information such as financial reports, ship trajectories, and satellite imagery. In addition, token consumption for image and video reasoning has been reduced by more than 30% compared with the previous version.
