动察 Beating AI News Flash: AI coding company Factory raises $200 million, reaching a valuation of $5 billion. As recently as April this year, its valuation was only $1.5 billion, a more than 3x increase in 5 months.

Factory focuses on enterprise-grade coding Agent Droids. Developers give it a task, and it can plan on its own, write code, test, and submit PRs, and can also switch between different models such as Claude, GPT, and Gemini based on the task.

Factory now says hundreds of thousands of developers are using it, with customers including Nvidia, Adobe, T-Mobile, and Palo Alto Networks. The company hopes to further expand a single coding Agent into a complete "software factory," allowing Agents to participate in the entire process from requirements, development, and testing to review and maintenance.

After this funding round, Factory's cumulative financing has exceeded $400 million. Reuters lists Cognition and Cursor as its main competitors, and the funding scale of AI coding Agents continues to swell.
