Musk: The only solution to the US debt crisis is AI and robots.

Oct 17, 21:34

October 17: Musk stated that the government efficiency department (DOGE) reform experiment he once led ultimately ended in failure, proving that "it is fundamentally impossible for us to solve the fiscal deficit problem from within the government." Musk said: "The only way to solve the U.S. national debt problem is to rely on artificial intelligence and robots." He added: "We cannot solve this problem by tightening our belts." Musk's statement effectively acknowledged that the DOGE reform failed to achieve the expected results, but also pointed out that a future administration might use increasingly capable artificial intelligence to try to solve this problem again. Musk said that neither the president, the House of Representatives, the Senate, nor the judiciary has any willingness to cut spending.

Musk admitted that he "somewhat did go a bit too far" and ultimately stayed away from his companies for too long. He said: "I should have stayed more in the background... and this matter probably only needed to last one or two months, rather than, as was actually the case, formally serving in the White House for as long as four months. I should have gone back earlier and refocused my energy on artificial intelligence." (AXIOS)
