Musk: The Only Way to Solve the U.S. Debt Problem Is to Rely on Artificial Intelligence and Robots
On October 17, according to AXIOS, Musk stated that the reform trial he led under the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) ultimately yielded no results, proving that “we simply cannot solve the fiscal deficit from within the government.” Musk remarked, “The only way to address the U.S. national debt issue is to rely on artificial intelligence and robots.” He added, “We cannot solve this problem through austerity measures.” Musk’s statement effectively acknowledges that the DOGE reforms failed to achieve their expected outcomes, while also suggesting that a future administration might attempt to tackle the issue again using increasingly capable artificial intelligence. He noted that neither the president, the House of Representatives, the Senate, nor the judiciary has the inclination to reduce spending.
Musk admitted that he “overreached to some extent,” ultimately leaving his companies for too long. He said, “I should have stayed more in the background… and this matter might have only required one or two months, rather than actually serving officially at the White House for four full months as was the case. I should have returned sooner and refocused my efforts on artificial intelligence.” (Jin10)
