Cathie Wood: Midterm elections will not halt the AI revolution, economic growth momentum is stronger than most investors expect.
November 8 — ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood stated in a post that she does not believe the outcome of this U.S. midterm election will halt the AI revolution. She believes that market uncertainty is understandable, but the economy is on a stronger growth trajectory than most investors realize.
She noted that the stock market began pricing in expectations as early as May and June for a possible prolonged Iran war and a Democratic sweep of the elections, while rising oil and gasoline prices also added to consumers' cost-of-living pressures. Voters focused on household budgets made the congressional election results more conservative than the headlines suggested.
Cathie Wood expects that data center construction companies will pay greater attention to local community concerns and provide and highlight more community benefits, including lower property taxes, more high-paying jobs, promotion of commercial development, and funding for schools and cultural facilities.
She stated that productivity gains from AI are accelerating and expects these gains to translate into higher pay, stronger profit margins, more investment, and lower prices, helping ease cost-of-living pressures. She believes the market is only beginning to experience the impact of this technological revolution.
