Musk's xAI Grok Now Supports China UnionPay and Alipay Payments; Users Report Half-Price First-Month Subscription
October 31: According to IT之家, users report that Musk's xAI (also known as SpaceXAI) Grok now supports China UnionPay and Alipay payments, and the subscription page's region options also include Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. IT之家's check found this to be accurate.
Since Cursor (which has supported Alipay payments since April 9, 2025) was acquired by SpaceXAI, users have gradually reported that a gray-release option for Alipay payments had appeared in Grok, until it was broadly rolled out in recent days. Meanwhile, because X (formerly Twitter) shares the same payment system with Grok, users can also use Alipay to subscribe to X Premium and enjoy Grok's Plus-level subscription.
In addition, all users can enjoy a half-price discount on the first month of their first Grok subscription. Beyond that, users who need it can also choose Apple Pay and Google Pay, and linking a bank account for payment will also get $5 cash back (IT之家 note: about 33.3 yuan at current exchange rates).
