Governance Organization Behind Stablecoin OUSD Sets Management Fee Standard, Offers Equity Incentives to Partners

Nov 4, 08:04

November 4: According to CoinDesk, for the stablecoin OpenUSD (OUSD) co-initiated by Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, Coinbase and Shopify, its governance organization Open Standard will charge a 0.1 basis point management fee on payment volume, capped at $0.01 per payment. Documents show that payments of $1,000 and above are subject to the $0.01 cap, while smaller payments are charged 0.1 basis points of the amount.

Unlike USDT and USDC issuers, which retain interest on reserves, OUSD distributes reserve yield to partners and deducts only the management fee. Open Standard also offers partners the opportunity to obtain project equity based on OUSD holdings and fund flows; partners must hold at least $50 million to participate in the equity pool, and a single partner's maximum stake is capped at 5%. In addition, Visa has released a 100-plus-page technical implementation and user guide for partners to integrate OUSD through the Visa stablecoin platform.
