Glassnode: Approximately 6.26 million BTC are held in addresses with revealed public keys, accounting for 31.2% of the supply.
On October 9, TechFlow reported that according to on-chain analytics platform Glassnode co-founder Rafael (@n3ocortex), approximately 6.26M BTC (31.2% of the total supply) now have their public keys publicly visible on-chain, up from 24.8% at the start of 2021 and returning to levels seen in 2016.
To break it down, address reuse has exposed the public keys for 4.33M BTC, while another 1.71M BTC are exposed due to the P2PK script type (of which 1.10M BTC belong to Satoshi). Additionally, 222K BTC are exposed via Taproot addresses.
At the institutional level, exchanges collectively hold 1.79M BTC with public keys visible, with significant variation in exposure rates across platforms: Coinbase at 10%, Binance at 83%, Bitfinex at 100%; Grayscale at 49%, Revolut at 99%, Robinhood at 100%; while Fidelity stands at just 2%. The exposure rate for holdings by the US, UK, and Salvadoran governments is 0%.
