OpenAI provides $5 million to support the mathematics community in verifying AI research findings

On October 15 that OpenAI announced a $5 million funding commitment to a new initiative by the Simons Foundation to support the mathematical community in examining, understanding, and advancing research outputs from AI. This initiative will help mathematicians validate and expand upon AI-generated research findings, including relevant work recently published by OpenAI. OpenAI stated that it hopes this will support the mathematical community in translating progress in AI into deeper human understanding and new scientific discoveries.
