OCC Director: GENIUS Act Final Rule Expected to Take Effect by End of October

On October 15, according to reporter Eleanor Terrett (@EleanorTerrett), Jonathan Gould, Comptroller of the Currency at the OCC, stated at the Milken Institute event "Building the New Digital Economy" that the OCC's final rule implementing the GENIUS Act is expected to be issued in the "near term," before the end of October. The GENIUS Act is the core legislation for the U.S. stablecoin regulatory framework, and the issuance of this final rule will mark the formal implementation phase of the U.S. stablecoin regulatory system.
