Tether Partners with 15 Bitcoin Mining Companies to Advance the MDK Open-Source Framework and Accelerate AI-Driven Mining Automation
On October 24, Tether officially announced that 15 bitcoin mining-related companies have committed to integrating with and maintaining its Mining Development Kit (MDK) open-source framework. These participants span mine operators, ASIC miner manufacturers, and mining pools, aiming to resolve compatibility issues between different mining equipment and management systems, and to provide a unified infrastructure for AI-driven automated management.
According to the announcement, the participating companies will separately develop and maintain MDK Worker components, connecting existing hardware, mining pools, and management systems to a unified interface without requiring replacement of original technology or relinquishing control over their systems. Developers can build cross-device monitoring tools and AI agents based on MDK to implement functions such as miner status monitoring, fault identification, and performance optimization.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that as software gradually shifts from monitoring physical infrastructure to autonomous operation, establishing a unified communication standard will become increasingly important. Currently, Tether's QVAC mining agent is already running on MDK. MDK is scheduled to upgrade to version 0.11 during the Lugano Plan ₿ Forum held on October 23-24, with plans to release the first stable version 1.0 by the end of 2026.
