Dragonfly Partner Questions DFINITY's Technical Infringement Allegations: Related Patent Was Only Approved at the End of July

Oct 24, 20:33

On October 24, Dragonfly partner Haseeb Qureshi responded to DFINITY founder Dominic Williams' previous allegations that NEAR Intents had used threshold ECDSA signature technology without authorization. According to screenshots of related patent applications he shared, the patents were not approved until late July this year, having previously been in "patent application" status, while NEAR Intents modified the relevant algorithm in September this year.

Haseeb Qureshi added that, if indeed as Dominic Williams himself stated, the alleged patent infringement may only span a period of about one month, and the relevant algorithm was initially published in an academic paper under a CC BY license, which NEAR also cited in its implementation.
