CMCC Global Partners with Tether and Bitfinex Securities to Launch Two Tokenized Funds
NewsBTC reported on October 24 that digital asset investment management company CMCC Global plans to partner with Tether and Bitfinex Securities to tokenize its two funds, Crest and Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund (LBAF), and issue them under El Salvador’s digital asset regulatory framework.
Under the plan, both funds will utilize Tether’s Hadron platform for token issuance and management, while Bitfinex Securities will handle issuance, distribution, and secondary market trading services. Crest is denominated in USD with a target yield exceeding that of US Treasury bills; LBAF is denominated in Bitcoin with a target BTC-denominated annualized net return rate of 8% to 12%, though this return target does not constitute a guarantee.
The planned issuance price for Crest tokens is $10 per token, and for LBAF tokens it is 0.0001 BTC per token. Institutional investor BTCS S.A. has agreed in principle to provide cornerstone investments worth hundreds of BTC, though the specific committed amount remains undisclosed. The related products will implement compliance measures including identity verification, anti-money laundering screening, and wallet address whitelisting.
