On November 3, reports from The Paper revealed the Xuhui District People's Procuratorate of Shanghai's disclosure of the city's first case involving AI-forged signatures and theft of large model compute power. The suspect, Zong Moumou, illegally accessed AI platform APIs over 290,000 times through bulk account registrations and bypassing platform security verification, reselling image and video generation services for illegal profits exceeding 34,000 yuan.

Investigations revealed that two applications under the platform in question saw over 4 million accounts registered from a single IP address within a short timeframe. Zong utilized AI to develop automated scripts and forged electronic signatures to circumvent platform security measures, aggregating free credits to offer paid generation services to external users.

Ultimately, the Xuhui District Court sentenced Zong to three years in prison with a three-year probation, along with a 40,000 yuan fine, convicted of the crime of illegally obtaining data from computer information systems.
