Tether will contribute €28.8 million to Juventus's capital increase but abstains from voting on the financial statements.
On November 8, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, stablecoin issuer Tether, which holds approximately 11.5% of Juventus' shares, will participate in the €250 million capital increase proposed by majority shareholder Exor at the November 3 shareholders' meeting. Contributing €28.8 million in line with its stake, Tether voted in favor of the capital increase proposal.
However, Tether abstained on all other agenda items, including the financial report showing a €66 million loss, the appointment of Giovanni Carnevali and Martina Storti to the board of directors (succeeding Damien Comolli and Kerstin Andrea Lutz), and the executive equity incentive plan.
This stands in contrast to a year prior: at the November 7, 2025 shareholders' meeting, Tether voted in favor of the financial report disclosing a €58 million loss, yet raised procedural objections regarding the then-proposed €98 million capital increase. It requested the inclusion of preemptive subscription rights for existing shareholders and the immediate finalization of the issue price and share count. Despite the motion being rejected, Tether still contributed €11.7 million to participate. Additionally, in December 2025, Tether presented a binding offer to acquire all Juventus shares from the Agnelli family holding company, which was declined.
