Binance Tells Some European Users to Withdraw Funds, Charges Monthly Fee From Nov 29; Accounts to Close at Year-End

Nov 8, 13:24

Nov 8: According to CoinDesk, Binance is notifying users in Spain, France, Italy and Poland to withdraw their crypto assets as soon as possible. From Nov 29, remaining cryptocurrency balances will be charged a fee of 0.025% per month or 10 USDC, whichever is higher; affected accounts will be closed on Dec 31, 2026.

A Binance spokesperson said this is a gradual restriction of some services for affected users following the end of the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) transition period. Deposits are currently restricted, but users can still withdraw and their assets remain safely accessible. Binance has not yet obtained a full MiCA license and cannot serve customers normally across the entire EU.

Earlier report: Binance will close French users' accounts on Dec 31 because it has not obtained EU MiCA regulatory approval.
