「Whale Tracking」: The BTC short position on the verge of liquidation has been forced to liquidate at a loss of $38.5 million, with the latest liquidation price at $64,100

August 13th, according to TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight) monitoring, the previously tracked whale with address starting with 0xff84 held the largest BTC short position. The whale originally shorted 1792.6 BTC with 40x leverage, with a position value of approximately $114 million. The liquidation price fell below 0.7% at one point.

During last night's BTC rebound after the CPI data, the whale triggered 12 "reduce-only" stop-market orders in 6 rounds, covering a total of 600 BTC. The nominal value was around $38.563 million, representing a reduction of about 33.5%, with a realized loss of approximately $164,000.

However, after the reduction, the whale re-entered a short position of 269.3 BTC, with a trading volume of around $17.097 million and an average price of approximately $63,476 per BTC.

As of the time of writing, the whale is still maintaining a 40x leveraged short position on 1411.9 BTC, with a position value of around $89.57 million, a net reduction of about 21.2% from the peak; the entry price is $63,899.4, with an unrealized profit of about $650,000, representing a return of approximately 28.8%.

The current liquidation price is $64,131.2, which is about 1.1% away from the current price. The account still holds 32 "reduce-only" stop-market orders, with the most recent trigger price at $64,096, about $35 below the liquidation price.
