October 3 — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang held approximately 870 million Nvidia shares as of March 23, 2026, representing 3.58% of the company's total share capital. Based on Nvidia's stock price of $231.49 in early October, this stake is worth about $201 billion. Forbes data shows that Jensen Huang's current net worth is about $200 billion, with his personal wealth mainly coming from his Nvidia stake.

Jensen Huang is Nvidia's largest known individual shareholder, but because U.S. SEC rules do not require individual investors holding less than 5% to disclose their holdings, it cannot be ruled out that there may be undisclosed individual shareholders holding more than Jensen Huang. Currently, major institutional shareholders holding more than 5% of Nvidia include BlackRock and Vanguard Group, with holdings of 7.43% and 7.31%, respectively.

Jensen Huang co-founded Nvidia in 1993. In 1999, before Nvidia's first stock split, he held about 2.9 million shares, or 9.9% of the company. If those shares had been retained to this day, after adjustment for stock splits they would be close to 2.8 billion shares, meaning he has continued to reduce part of his stake since then.

In addition, Jensen Huang can also receive Nvidia shares through performance awards. Nvidia paid him total compensation of $35.5 million for fiscal year 2025, including a $1.5 million base salary, a $3 million cash bonus, and about $31 million in equity in the form of 936,800 performance stock units (PSUs).
