Dogecoin Labs officially launches as DOGE ecosystem seeks growth sources beyond meme demand.

Oct 21, 20:04

October 21: Dogecoin Labs has been established with the support of the Dogecoin Foundation, integrating the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application platform, and the Such App payment product into a single independent organization, with Jordan Jefferson serving as CEO. The company will focus on areas including consumer applications, payments, commerce, DeFi, and gaming, while the Foundation continues to be responsible for ecosystem maintenance and open-source development.

According to the announcement, MyDoge has over 500,000 users, and DogeOS's EVM-compatible public testnet went live on September 30. Such App, developed by House of Doge and Brag House, provides merchant tools such as invoicing and offline QR code payments.

The integration comes as Dogecoin's expansion into traditional finance has failed to sustain investor demand. Bitwise announced in September its plan to close its Dogecoin ETF; CEO Hunter Horsley previously stated that the fund's failure reflects the gap between crypto ETF investors and users of crypto brokerage apps.
