A majority of Democratic voters refuse to compromise with Trump, believing that opposing the Republican policy agenda should be the priority.

November 4th, according to Politico, two-thirds of Democratic voters want the House of Representatives to block U.S. President Trump's policy agenda rather than compromise with him. After the Democrats achieved a major election victory, Trump expressed willingness to cooperate with the Democrats during the next congressional term. However, senior Democrats have signaled that they will not easily let the Trump administration's actions over the past year go.

Politico polling shows that Democratic midterm voters hold a similar attitude: 65% believe that the House should focus on opposing Trump's policy agenda, even if it means sacrificing opportunities to advance legislation. Starting in January next year, Democrats will face pressure to push policies through, but must strike a balance between addressing cost-of-living issues and advancing a tough oversight agenda.
