Hyperliquid launches HIP-3*, enabling deployment of permissioned perpetual contract markets

Oct 27, 01:53

October 27 — Hyperliquid posted on X that HIP-3 will support optional configuration by deployers for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade. The related additional features are collectively referred to as HIP-3*, the core of which is an on-chain allowlist managed by the deployer or its sub-deployers. This feature is an optional add-on to HIP-3, with the deployer deciding whether to enable it, and existing markets are unaffected; the first version is already live on testnet, and the specifications remain preliminary.

Hyperliquid also said that Payward, the parent company of Kraken, plans to become the first CFTC-regulated deployer of HIP-3* markets, using Hyperliquid to deploy perpetual contract markets for U.S. customers. Following regulatory approval, Payward's CFTC-regulated Bitnomial will serve as the deployer, responsible for creating and managing markets and clearing and settling contracts, while NinjaTrader Clearing will handle customer accounts.
