Oct 27, 02:26

October 27: According to Axios, a spokesperson for the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said the FTC asked Anthropic executives on Monday to appear and testify in its investigation into consumer harm. The FTC had previously issued a civil investigative demand in the probe, requiring documents related to security incidents, security measures, marketing materials and privacy policies. The spokesperson said personnel at other AI companies have also received testimony requests but did not disclose further details; the FTC plans to open investigations into more AI companies going forward. The report noted that the escalation of the investigation coincided with the day Anthropic was pitching its IPO to investors.
