October 27 — Meta Platforms (META.O) said it plans to raise funds through an equity offering to support investments in artificial intelligence, with the financing scale slightly raised to $97.5 billion from $95 billion. When announcing the pricing arrangements for the equity offering on Tuesday, Meta said it would increase the size of its common stock offering to $25 billion from $22.5 billion. Under the plan first announced on Monday, Meta also intends to issue about $12.5 billion of Class A depositary shares and raise up to $60 billion through an at-the-market program. Tuesday's announcement also showed that Meta has granted the underwriters of the common stock and depositary share offerings an option to purchase an additional approximately $5.5 billion in stock; this means Meta's final total fundraising could reach up to approximately $103 billion.
