November 2 — According to TechCrunch, data center coolant monitoring startup Omen AI is acquiring competitor Aquatic Labs for $16 million in cash plus stock. The two plan to integrate Omen's technology for detecting elements in water with Aquatic Labs' technology for detecting water alkalinity into a single sensor, expected to reach the market early next year. Aquatic Labs CEO Allan Adams has become Omen's chief scientific officer. Omen founder Zach Laberge said the company's first-generation sensors are expected to monitor chips with a combined power draw of 250 to 300 megawatts by the end of this year, and he hopes to expand to the equivalent of 1 gigawatt of chips by the end of 2027.
