Multiple explosions heard in southern Iran, cause unknown.
On November 8, according to Jin10, Iran’s state television reported that explosions were heard in Jask, Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Qeshm Island in southern Iran, with the cause remaining unclear. Iranian officials have not yet confirmed the source of the blasts.
Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency previously reported that two missiles struck Qeshm Island, but no official information has been released regarding potential damage. A few days earlier, the United States attacked Qeshm Island. A U.S. official stated that the strike was limited in scope and does not signal a resumption of large-scale military operations.
Countries in the Middle East have long expressed concern that U.S. President Trump could resume strikes on Iran following the midterm elections. Trump had paused attacks on Iran several weeks before the vote. Iran has repeatedly warned that if it faces another attack, it will target U.S. and Israeli sites within neighboring countries.
