MiniMax finally names "Space Rabbit": M3.1 Flash is about to debut, and the identity of the anonymous model surfaces.

Beating AI News Flash: MiniMax officially posted a teaser on X: "Welcome back, Space Bunny," announcing that MiniMax-M3.1-Flash is coming soon. This is also the first time MiniMax has proactively linked the previously viral anonymous model Space Bunny to M3.1 Flash.

On September 23, Space Bunny Alpha anonymously landed on OpenRouter and OpenCode with free access for a limited time. It supports a 1 million Token context, image and video input, and adjustable reasoning intensity, and once topped the daily call rankings on both platforms. Developers later discovered through tokenizer fingerprinting and Token counting tests that it closely matched the MiniMax M series, but at the time the official side never confirmed its identity.

In fact, MiniMax had already opened public beta testing for M3.1-Flash-Preview on September 27, focusing on high-speed reasoning and coding tasks. Now the official API documentation already shows MiniMax-M3.1-Flash with the Preview suffix removed, supporting five levels of reasoning intensity and tool calling.
