BlackRock Partners with Ondo to Launch Tokenized Investment Strategy Portfolio

Oct 3, 21:05

On October 3, according to CoinDesk, the world's largest asset manager BlackRock recently announced a partnership with Ondo Finance to officially launch tokenized investment services via its "Intelligent Portfolios" platform.

The project packages professional investment strategies tailored to different risk preferences—including high-yield, diversified growth, and high-growth combinations—into single blockchain tokens, allowing investors to gain full exposure to a strategy containing multiple underlying assets simply by holding the token.

This product form is seen as representing the industry's advancement from "single-asset tokenization" to "on-chain portfolio tokenization." Compared to traditional mutual funds or ETFs, tokenizing investment portfolio strategies gives these strategies the characteristics of digital-native assets: they can circulate freely across platforms, operate publicly and transparently on-chain, and serve as collateral for derivative financial activities such as lending. Crypto investment firm Pantera notes that this shift directly reduces both the number of positions investors must manage and the operational costs of rebalancing.

Lisa O'Connor, Head of Global Model Portfolio Solutions at BlackRock, emphasized that "tokenization opens up a completely new pathway for delivering portfolio strategies through digital infrastructure." The article further points out that as such digital infrastructure continues to mature, future portfolio management is poised to integrate deeply with artificial intelligence technology. Software will be able to customize strategies based on investors' personalized goals, risk tolerance, and even tax situations, while tokenization ensures these complex assets can truly reach a wider audience.
