BNB Chain Foundation completes 37th quarterly token burn, destroying over 1.64 million BNB
On October 19, the BNB Chain Foundation announced the completion of the 37th quarterly BNB token burn for BNB Chain. A total of 1,646,196.44 BNB were burned in this round, with an estimated total value of approximately $1,197,344,519.40 at the time of the burn, and the current remaining total supply of BNB stands at 131,512,085.
BNB employs an Auto-Burn system that dynamically adjusts the burn quantity based on the token price and the quarterly block production volume of the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), aiming to gradually reduce the total supply to 100 million coins. Following the network's recent upgrade to Lorentz and Maxwell, which increased block production frequency, the related burn calculation parameters were also updated accordingly. The tokens burned in this round were sent directly to a blackhole address. Additionally, the network continues to maintain a real-time transaction fee burn mechanism based on the BEP-95 protocol.
