Bloomberg Expands Crypto Exposure Analytics to Support Basel Framework Risk Classification and Regulatory Reporting

Oct 24, 19:15

October 24 – Bloomberg announced on October 22 that it has expanded its Crypto Exposure Analytics capabilities, enabling institutions to identify, classify and report exposures to crypto assets and tokenized real-world assets in line with the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision framework. The tool looks through funds, equities, bonds and derivatives to identify direct and indirect crypto risk, helping banks and asset managers with risk management and regulatory reporting.

Bloomberg said it has identified about 1,700 funds that may fall under the framework, roughly half of which do not explicitly list crypto exposure in their investment strategies. The analytics are available through Bloomberg Data License and the Bloomberg Terminal, and Morgan Stanley said it is using them for fund look-through analysis and exposure classification under the Basel framework.
